Privacy notice

When you book: your name, phone number, email address, and anything you tell us about your hair, allergies or preferences.

When you order from the shop: the above plus a delivery address if you choose delivery.

When you contact us: your name, email, phone and the content of your message.

We record patch test results because our insurance requires us to hold them.

To provide the service you've booked, contact you about your appointment, keep a treatment history so your stylist knows what worked last time, and meet our insurance and health-and-safety obligations.

We only send marketing messages if you've ticked the box to receive them. You can withdraw that at any time by replying STOP, clicking unsubscribe, or telling any member of staff.

Only our staff. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Our booking and payment systems are provided by processors bound by contract to protect your information.

Client and treatment records are kept for seven years after your last visit, which is the period our insurer requires for treatment history. After that our system anonymises the record automatically — the appointment stays in our books because we have to account for what we sold, but your name and details are removed from it.

Photographs you send us of a look you want are deleted when your record is anonymised, or sooner if you ask.

Marketing contacts are removed as soon as you opt out.

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we're not legally required to keep it. Email essiesluxehair@gmail.com and we'll respond within one month.

When we delete your record we overwrite your name, contact details, address, notes and any allergies we hold, and we delete your photographs. Your past appointments stay on our books with nobody attached to them, because we still have to be able to account for what we sold.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

This website uses only the cookies it needs to work — remembering your shopping bag and keeping staff signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

We do count page views, so we can see which parts of the site people actually use and how quickly the pages load. This is measured without cookies and without storing anything on your device: we see that a page was visited and roughly where from, never who visited it, and nothing is linked to you or followed across other websites. There is no advertising network involved and we do not sell any of it.
